Cindy Hofner

My family moved to Tontogany in 1972 and we transferred our membership from our old church to then Tontogany Calvary United Methodist Church.
While raising our children, I served on several committees and volunteered when requested to serve on the Leadership Team.
In 2017, I was asked by Pastor Kelley to take over as chair of the Leadership Council, as the past leader was stepping down. In the early years of my leadership, the church struggled with costly repairs for our church building, COVID, and the growing divisions within the United Methodist Church. We were struggling on how we could continue to operate as a church, with all of the negatives against us, and still serve our community.
Knowing that we may be stepping into unknown territory, we educated ourselves and the congregation with the positives and negatives for disaffiliation; worked through the difficult and detailed processes, and ultimately the church body decided to disaffiliate from the UMC.
In 2023, I was voted by my peers to lead the new Board of Directors of the independent TCC as President. This is an honor for me to have the support from the congregation to lead our new church.
We look forward to growing our church and ministry for God and our community
